Using the Full Text Journal Finder

If you have the bibliographic information for a newspaper, magazine or journal article it’s easy to see if the periodical is available in a SUU online article database or in the SUU print journal holdings using the Full Text Journal Finder:

To find the following article listed in the LM 3170/6170 Recommended Readings:

Abram, S. & Luther, J. (2004). Born with the chip. Library Journal, 129(8), 34-37.

1. On the SUU Library home page click the Full Text Journal Finder button

2. Enter the title of the periodical - Library Journal

3. The results list shows that the periodical is available in several article databases and in SUU's Print Holdings on the First Floor of the library.

4. Here's how to locate the article in either the Academic Search Premier and Education Full Text article databases.

Academic Search Premier

  1. If you are on-campus click on the link for Academic Search Premier and you will go directly to the database; if off-campus you'll see a screen that asks you to login using your SUU username and password (this will keep you logged in for several hours).

  1. You will next see the Publication Details screen for "Library Journal". You can locate the article by clicking on the appropriate issue (2004) or use the "search within this publication" link and search by the article title or author.

Education Full Text

  1. If you are on-campus you will go directly to the database; if off-campus you'll see a screen that asks you to login using your SUU username and password (this will keep you logged in for several hours).

  1. You will next see the Issues screen for "Library Journal". Click the issue and volume/number in the list (2004, v129, n8) and then locate the article.
